What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is a school-wide system that teaches and models appropriate behaviors to the school community. It utilizes positive reinforcements before the use of punishment when dealing with discipline. The PBIS team analyzes student data to make decisions both for the whole school and for individual students. The ultimate goal of PBIS is to prevent problem behavior so that teachers can use the entire class time for instruction. At CHS, the PBIS program encompasses the entire school campus — from the classroom to the hallways to the parking lot!
